AITTAKURU OUTDOOR STAGE
The stunning outdoor theater at Aittakuru is located about 4 km from Hotel Pyhätunturi (address: Kultakeronkatu 21) via the road. From the Tajukangas outdoor stage, a steep trail with stairs leads to Aittakuru, a distance of about 2 km. Entrance to the concert venue is allowed only via the official route along the boardwalks. We recommend taking the free shuttle bus or walking with a guide if you’re unsure of the route.
From the bus parking area, it’s about a 1.5 km walk to Aittakuru. The path follows a groomed trail and boardwalks, with gentle inclines and declines. The trail may be soft in some areas. The grandstand is built along the opposite canyon wall, accessible via a steep staircase.
Concerts at Aittakuru are all-ages. Children sitting in their own seat require a ticket. Children up to 3 years old sitting on a guardian’s lap may attend for free and do not need a ticket.
Concerts always start at the scheduled time – please be on time. Entrance opens about 30 minutes before the concert or as soon as the soundcheck is complete. Please allow the artist to prepare and move to your seat only after the soundcheck is finished.
Guided Walks to Aittakuru
In addition to the bus service, we recommend taking the free guided walks to the Aittakuru concerts – along the way, you’ll hear stories about Pyhä and Pyhä Unplugged. Meeting point is always 1 hour before the Aittakuru concert in front of the main entrance of Hotel Pyhätunturi. The walk is approximately 2 km. A friendly guide will lead the group through the Tajukangas area along a steep trail and stairs down to the canyon. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
Free Shuttle Bus, Parking, and Taxi Services
Free Shuttle Bus:
From the front of Hotel Pyhätunturi, a free shuttle bus runs to and from the Aittakuru concerts, stopping at Restaurant Huttuhippu and the K-Market bus stops. The first departure from the hotel is 1 hour, and the second 40 minutes before the concert starts.
Return shuttles from Aittakuru leave from the large asphalt parking area at the North Slope after the concert. Please follow the signs and exit the grandstand promptly to catch the buses.
You can park your own car at the Naava Nature Center parking area, as the hotel parking is reserved for hotel guests only.
Driving to Aittakuru:
Parking is available at the small Aittakuru parking area and the large North Slope parking lot for those arriving by car.
Taxi Services:
Taxi drop-offs and pick-ups are at the Aittakuru parking area, as private cars or taxis are not allowed on the trail. We recommend using the free shuttle bus. Contact details for local taxi companies are available here.
Accessibility
At Aittakuru, concerts can be enjoyed from a small, separate seating area located close to the stage. There are also wheelchair spaces at the front of the seating area. Assistants may attend free of charge with the ticket holder who requires assistance. Please contact tapahtumat@pyha.fi in advance to obtain driving permits and instructions.
Visitors arriving by car or a specially booked accessible taxi may carefully drive along the trail to the start of the boardwalks to make access easier. However, all guests must still walk approximately 500 meters along the boardwalks to reach the front of the stage. The boardwalks include some inclines and declines, and may be slippery when wet. The trail can become soft, especially in rainy conditions, so we recommend using a 4-wheel-drive vehicle or a local taxi. An accessible restroom is located at the start of the boardwalks near the entrance.
Our staff is available at the start of the Aittakuru boardwalks to assist with any questions.
Check the separate accessibility information for more details.
Moving Around the Event Area, First Aid, and Toilets
Getting Around:
Allow plenty of time to move around the event area. Walking to Aittakuru and climbing up to the seating area can be physically demanding, so take your time and enjoy the journey. Entrance to the venue is only via the boardwalks.
The boardwalks at Aittakuru are relatively narrow, so overtaking should be avoided. In wet conditions, the boardwalks and seating structures may be slippery, so exercise caution. Exiting toward the scree slopes is strictly prohibited due to rockfall risk.
Exit the seating area after the concert via the upper route. Stairs on the other side of the ridge lead down to either the shuttle bus pick-up or the Aittakuru parking area. Our staff is on-site to guide visitors—please ask for assistance if needed.
First Aid:
A trained first aid team is on duty at the top of the Aittakuru seating area during concerts. Assistance is available by moving to the upper seating area or contacting the security staff.
Toilets:
Three toilets (including one accessible) are located at the start of the boardwalks upon arrival. We recommend using the restroom before proceeding along the boardwalks toward the seating area.
Preparation, Kiosk, and Waste
Preparation:
Please dress appropriately for outdoor concerts at Aittakuru. Umbrellas are not allowed in the seating area for safety reasons. Fortunately, Gore-Tex jackets and rubber boots are always in style in the fell. Bringing a sitting pad is recommended.

Smoking is prohibited in the seating area and across the event site.
Keep the fell clean:
Please take all your belongings and trash with you after the concert. Trash bins are scarce in the natural surroundings.

ACCESSIBILITY
We want to ensure that all festival visitors can enjoy concerts in the beautiful fell environment. The Pyhä Unplugged festival area is large and consists of several different locations. Outdoor stages and restaurant areas are not fully accessible. Moving between outdoor stages and other concert areas involves uneven surfaces, small elevation changes, and even boardwalks, which may be slippery when wet. Our staff will assist as best as possible if weather conditions make access challenging. Please ask for help—we are happy to assist. Entrance times may involve queues and some waiting, so please allow a little extra time.
Support persons can attend Aittakuru, Tajukangas, Revontulikappeli, and CAMP Kitchen & Bar performances free of charge with the ticket-holder they are assisting. Please contact tapahtumat(a)pyha.fi in advance to obtain a driving permit and instructions.
The need for a support person can be indicated with an EU disability card, an “A” designation, or a visual impairment card. These cards are not required, but having one can speed up the process of issuing a support-person ticket. Guide dogs are not recommended on the festival grounds.
More detailed accessibility information for each venue can be found below the Aittakuru and Tajukangas venue info sections.
